The Parks Commission was formally created in 1989 to implement the townships Recreation Plan. The intent of which is to foster efficient patterns of development that preserves the communities important natural features and rural character all the while accommodating growth and development.
East Bay Township is growing at an exciting rate. This trend had promoted township officials to make preparations to fund projects that will enable more of its residents to participate in recreational activities, without having to drive long distances to utilize TC facilities.
To reserve the pavilion at Grace Macdonald park, please call the Township Office. The cost to reserve the pavilion is $40. You may also rent the pavilion at Killingsworth park for $20. Prices are also available for half day use. Please call if you have any questions or if you would like to rent either of our parks and make sure your date is available. Currently East Bay Township has seven parks:
Grace Macdonald may be the most well known park. It is a 42 acre parcel located near the intersection of Peninsula Trail, Rasho and High Lake roads. Facilities include a baseball field, an all purpose field (with soccer goals and football uprights), pickle ball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. It also has a pavilion area with grills and picnic tables, a sledding hill, hiking trails and to see our 2-5 year-olds play structure click here and here & our play structure for 5-12 year-olds click here and here. Grace Macdonald park is open from dawn until 10:00pm during the sledding season. During all other seasons, the park is open from dawn until dusk.
Arbutus Lake No. 5 park is located on E. Arbutus Lake Rd. This park is a nice mixture of grass and trees right on Arbutus Lake. It contains picnic tables, grills, some playground equipment and fishing pier.
-Pines Park is an 80 acres parcel located off Eikey Rd. Pines Park is priority #2 on the action plan. A comprehensive site plan has been completed for 20 of the 80 acres. This plan includes a baseball field, a football field, tennis courts, skating rink, paved walking trails, a playground and picnic areas.
Killingsworth Park is a 50 acre parcel located on Chandler Lake Rd. and Pointview Rd. This park offers skiing and hiking trails, a pavilion with tables and a swing set for kids.
-Kelly Park is a 2 acre lot that contains two storage buildings for township equipment and a boat launch for Chandler Lake.
Gens Park is a .62 acre site on US 31 near Holiday Rd. right on East Bay. This park is a recent acquisition (1994) and has been the top priority on the commissions 5-year action plan since 2001. Gens offers a paved parking lot, bathhouse with flush toilets, a boardwalk to the beach and a nice beach/deck area with picnic areas and grills. Recent upgrades include a walkway through the marsh grass to the beach due to low water levels.

Pine Grove Park is a two lot parcel located in the Pine Grove sub-division. This park offers a basketball court, playground equipment and a picnic area. This is the only township park that does not offer restroom facilities.
We greatly appreciate the response to our Pines Park survey. We realize that we have been deficient in educating the public about Pines Park. Our plan is to rectify this situation so that we have an informed electorate. The Parks Commission meets the third Monday of each month at 6:00pm at the township office. The public is welcome to attend these meetings. We are always looking for new ideas! Thank you!
Buildings and Grounds Keeper
Bob Burns-
Bob's primary responsibilities are to maintain the grounds and facilities of the Township. On any given day during the summer, you are likely to find Bob mowing grass or fixing a picnic table. In the winter, you can look for him at the wheel of our snow plow.
