Community Police Officers (CPO's)
East Bay Township has two Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Deputies who are dedicated to patrolling East Bay Township. The East Bay Township CPO's are Deputy Matthew McKinley and Deputy Preston Taylor. The CPO's office is located at the Grand Traverse Metro Fire Station #9 at 110 High Lake Road. The non-emergent number to reach the CPO's is (231) 947-3631. Due to patrolling, the officers are not always in the office. Though citizens can leave a message for the officers and the Deputies will return the call at their earliest ability. More than likely, when a citizen in East Bay Township calls for police assistance, an East Bay Township CPO will be the officer who responds to the scene. This is a benefit to the community as these officers become familiar with the citizens and situations that occur in the township.

These officers handle many traditional officer-related duties within the township. They also network with business owners, Homeowner Associations, local schools and their teachers and principals. This is all for the common goal of making the township as safe as possible for all residents. Feel free to contact East Bay Township's CPO's for any reason, whether to file a complaint or concern, offer a comment or just to say hi! Just remember, if for any reason you should have an emergency and require immediate police response, dial 911!

coffee cop
Whenever you see a "Coffee with a Cop" sign at the roadside near Oleson's Grocery Store or see this event on the Township Calendar, stop in to Oleson's deli area for a cup of coffee and to say hi to East Bay Township's Community Police Officers.  Find out what's going on in your community, ask questions, and you're likely to meet a firefighter, paramedic or EMT as well!
