There are currently two ordinances regarding short-term rentals.
Short-Term Rental Moratorium Ordinance
East Bay Township's Board approved an ordinance, Ordinance 1 of 2022, and an extension, Ordinance 2 of 2022, enacting a moratorium on short-term rentals while the Board reviews potential amendments to the 2019 short-term rental ordinance. The moratorium ordinance is now in effect until June 22, 2023, and no short-term rental licenses will be approved during the moratorium. Read more....
Short-Term Rental Ordinance Licensing Ordinance
Ordinance 5 of 2019, a Short-Term Rental (STR) Licensing Ordinance, was approved by the Board of Trustees on July 8, 2019. This ordinance repeals and replaces the previous Short-Term Rental ordinance of June 11, 2018. A Short-Term Rental License is required to advertise and operate a Short-Term Rental in East Bay Township.
