D. Porter Community Field News
On August 15, 2010 Eastbay Township Parks Commission, community members, and family and friends of Dakota Porter join a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly renovated baseball field "D. Porter Community Field" located at Grace Macdonald Park. This field renovation was Dakota's Boy Scout Eagle Project in which he raised about $20,000.00 in product and services.
He improved the baseball field at the park by removing the old diamond dust, leveling the field, adding a grass infield, building a new pitcher's mound and batting box, adding new red diamond dust, irrigation, building a score board, adding a outfield fence & flag pole, and building a storage shed / concession stand.
Dakota is very honored with the naming of the field by Grace Macdonald and Eastbay Township Parks Commission. A Special Thanks to them, Troop 115, and all of the volunteers & donators that helped make this project possible.
